Paper cutting leaves you with positive and negative spaces. It fascinated me that the negative cut-out spaces could actually transmit light and create beautiful silhouettes. My experiments with light began with cutting out food packaging boxes and grocery bags, which had a third dimension and hence could house a light source. More recently I have taken to creating artwork with several layers in white paper that can then be illuminated to reveal the artwork.
